My personal plan to “hope-fill”

1. Be , not

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter;
     to search out a matter is the glory of kings.
As the heavens are high and the earth is deep,
     so the hearts of kings are unsearchable. Proverbs 25:2-3

2. Stay

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

“Do not call conspiracy
     everything this people calls a conspiracy;
do not fear what they fear,
     and do not dread it. Isaiah 8:12

3. Embrace

As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. James 5:11

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:5–6

Shouts of joy and victory
     resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!
     The Lord’s right hand is lifted high;
     the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!”
I will not die but live,
     and will proclaim what the Lord has done. Psalm 118:15–17

A good person brings good things out of the good stored up in their heart, and an evil person brings evil things out of the evil stored up in their heart. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

The tongue has the power of life and death,
     and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21

  2. Have you ever learned a piece of wisdom from a TV show? What was the wisdom and how have you applied it to your life?
  3. Which of the four practical applications from the message is the hardest for you? Why?
  4. Do you know someone who embodies hupomone? Describe them and the role they have played in your life.
  5. How are you intentionally filling your heart with hope this coming week?
  6. How can we pray for you right now and throughout the week?
