Named, Part 6: Instruments

November 7, 2021 / Grant Fishbook, Lead Teaching Pastor / Romans 6:13-14

God says we are his instruments.

The Overture ROMANS 6:13-14
Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

God’s instruments are…

In “rather offer yourselves”

In “to God”

In “as an instrument”

In “under grace”

The Interlude
2 TIMOTHY 2:19-21
       19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”
       20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. 21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

God doesn’t break things so He can fix them;
He fixes broken things so He can use them.
